As I sit here all bundled up and warmed by a quilt made with love from my Grandma, I am reminded that fall is quickly approaching. My email is a bit premature as the fall equinox is not until Friday September 23rd. However, my family and I will be celebrating the change in seasons and our 6 year wedding anniversary with a trip to New England next week. I vow to slow down and minimize my computer use during our trip J
The fall equinox marks not only the change of seasons but also when day and night fall into a harmonious balance. Whereas spring and summer represent an outward expression of expansive energy, fall and winter invite us to slow down and tune in. Our bodies follow the same rhythm as nature and as nature naturally begins to draw its energy inward we also find ourselves becoming more reflective, inward focused and introspective. In Sanskrit we call the process of drawing in and inward study Svadhyaya.
Svadhyaya is a process of self-study, of inviting the voice of your inner self to speak. To listen to how your inner guidance system is already speaking to you. Through our yoga practice we continually come back to this process of self-study. We invite more grace and meaning into our life through our intentions, our breath, our asana practice, our community, and through meditation. I invite you this this fall to allow yourself to soften and draw in. Ask your higher self what do you need to let go of? What are you clinging to that no longer serves you? What do you intend to conceive this fall? Then pause, listen, and embrace what arises for you.

Baby and Me Partner Yoga Workshop
Sunday September 25th from 2:00-3:00 pm

Experience how yoga can assist couples in successful postpartum adjustment, facilitate post-partum healing for mom, and enhance your relationship with baby. This is an interactive workshop for mom, partner, and baby.
Space will be dedicated to explore the following:
*Discussion tailored towards nurturing your relationship post baby
*Asanas (yoga postures) designed to relieve common postnatal discomforts
*Songs/movements/asanas for baby (handout will be provided)
*Partner poses designed to strengthen your relationship with your partner
*How to test for diastasis and modifications to make in your yoga practice
*Pelvic floor and core exercises
Your partner can be your spouse, life partner, parent, friend, roommate, or anyone else in your life who you wish to share the practice of yoga with. Babies ages 6 weeks to pre-walking are welcome an encouraged to attend. No previous yoga experience is required.
Baby and Me yoga invites us to surrender to the idea of what a yoga class is “supposed” to be. At times babies are silent and chill during class and at other times they are craving an asking for attention. We will be extremely flexible to accommodate and serve the needs of all babies and families.
Investment: 2 classes from your class package or drop in rates apply per adult in attendance.
Toddler Yoga/Movement 4 Week Session
Friday September 30th-October 21st, 2011 from 11:00-11:45 am

Share the practice of yoga with your toddler(s) this fall. Each class will include movement/asana, story, songs, games, and time to slow down and rest. By practicing yoga with your toddler(s) you are setting a foundation for and investing in their health and wellness. Yoga helps build strength, balance, and concentration while simultaneously stimulating their senses, providing social interaction, enhancing their self-esteem, and improving communication and stress management skills. This class is tailored for crawlers to age four. Parents/caregivers practice together with their toddler(s).
$40 for entire 4 week session (pre-registration required) or regular class prices for drop ins. Parents/caregivers with multiple children are encouraged to attend. Prices apply to one adult and one toddler. Additional toddlers or adults are $5 per person. Non-mobile babies are welcome at no additional charge.
Free Family Yoga (K-6 with adult participation) 5 Week Session

Family yoga provides an excellent space for the entire family to bond and connect while simultaneously stretching, strengthening, and relaxing your body. Through the practice of yoga, kids will naturally develop more inner body awareness and will enjoy having a space to creatively express themselves through movement, breath, an intention. Families will leave with tools to continue the yogic journey off of their mats including songs, games, affirmations in motion, stories, partner poses to practice at home, and resting/savasana exercises. Share the practice of yoga with your child in a fun, playful space and observe how your entire family grows and evolves. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, or small blanket. Appropriate for students grades K-6 and their caregivers. Due to limited space, please no more than two adults per child. Space is limited; registration is required.
Postnatal/Baby and Me Yoga Teacher Training

Are you interested in supporting women and babies postpartum as they navigate the journey of motherhood? This 10-hour Postnatal/Baby and Me Yoga Teacher Training is designed for yoga teachers, doulas, childbirth educators, counselors, mamas, and anyone wanting to deepen their understanding and practice of postnatal yoga. The training will include community building, pelvic health, how to test for diastasis and properly strengthen your core postpartum, asanas designed to relieve common postnatal discomforts, songs/movement/asana for baby, class observation, practice teaching, and class sequencing. Sara brings over 4 years of teaching experience, a background in counseling, her own experiences as a mother, and a passion to serve to this training.
