I would like to highlight the start of a 4 week Adaptive Yoga Children’s session I will be co-facilitating starting Sunday January 22nd. This is a very special offering as class with be tailored to serve children with sensory processing challenges (ADD, ADHD, autism, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs). Class starts on Sunday January 22nd at 9:30 am at Eliot Street Collective. Below is more information regarding the session
Yoga can be beneficial for everyBODY, you just have to find the right format. This is also true for children’s yoga. Children with sensory processing challenges find everyday activities to be overwhelming. Parents are constantly reaching out for strategies to help their children gain independence and confidence. Our first Adaptive Yoga workshops are designed to use the practice of yoga to foster strategies and skills to build self esteem and self awareness. Both Gretchen and Sara have a background in serving children with all different kids of needs. We hope to create a warm and nurturing environment where these children can be successful. Here is the info:
January 22, February 5, February 19, and March 4.
This class is DONATION BASED- please pay what you can. Suggested donation is $12
We need 2 kids for the class to run. Our class maximum is 6 children. (We will provide one adult for every 2 children) You must sign up in advance! Classes are at Eliot St Studio-Yoga for Young Warriors (2460 Eliot St).
Families are invited to stay and play along with us. Students only need comfortable clothes- we have mats and a water fountain.
Your child will not be labeled and does not need to be labeled. The class is intended for children with emotional/behavioral needs. (We hope to add physical needs in 2013) The greatest gift we can give a child is to be respectful of their spirit.
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or to register for the session.
